Our network comprises our members and our professional organisations that we work with helping to ensure that clinical skills education in Scotland responds to the needs of the NHS, addresses issues of equity of access and achieves the best value for the substantial sums of money invested in clinical skills education.

The CSMEN network of over 400 individuals has an interest in clinical training and provides regular updates on training opportunities. The network seeks to provide:

  • Clinical leadership;
  • Common quality standards;
  • Increased training provision;
  • Co-ordination of Research and Development priorities.

If you would like to be a part of our network and make a difference with simulation training please complete our membership form.

We work closely with our three simulation leads who each have a responsibility within their geographic area.:

  • Karen Johnstone - West Region (karen.johnstone@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk)
  • Siobhan Connolly – East and South Region (Siobhan.Connolly@nhs.scot)
  • Ashley Meldrum - North Region (ashley.meldrum@nhs.scot)

Our professional organisations meet quarterly under the CSMEN Operational group meeting to ensure there is clarity and understanding among the different directorates within NES and our Delivery Units.
