We develop online skills modules where there is a requirement for a national, evidence-based, quality-assured resource for use across Scotland. These modules range from clinical procedures to non-technical skills such as communication and can be found on TURAS. The development and review of these modules is overseen by the e-skills group (a national multi-professional group that meet bi monthly to develop and review relevant clinical skills resources).

Ear Care (Assessment and Irrigation)

This multi-professional resource aims to establish standardised training approach for the examination, assessment and use of ear irrigators for nursing, medical and relevant allied health care professions. It supports heath care practitioners in their studying, enabling them to work at their own pace, linking their own prior experience to new learning in preparation for transferring this to the workplace.

E-skills

The purpose of the E-skills Resources Group is to develop timely, national evidence based multi-professional online clinical skills resources following the processes adopted by CSMEN over the last 10 years.

CSMEN has successfully created several national E-skills resources using our quality assurance processes but want to fast track this production and formalise the development process.

CSMEN wants to expand the rapid development model that developed during COVID-19 pandemic and set up a Scotland wide group to develop a Once for Scotland approach to a multi-professional E-skills learning resources.

Representatives from NHS Scotland and Higher Education Institutes with an interest in both developing online e-learning resources form this group. It meets quarterly online and arrange ad-hoc meetings when required.
