DIHS Surgical Skills Centre (formerly Cuschieri Skills Centre)
The Dundee Institute for Healthcare Simulation (DIHS) has been formed to bring together and capitalise on the capability of the Surgical and Clinical Skills Centres within the School of Medicine at the University of Dundee. These award winning facilities have combined experience of providing simulation-based medical education spanning thirty years informed by the increasing evidence for the use of simulation-based medical education in improving patient safety.
Facilities have been refurbished doubling our training capacity with DIHS now providing space for up to 65 delegates at once across 3 seminar rooms, 3 wet labs and an anatomy room. The facilities provide the latest technology with live links to theatres worldwide.
We have recently become the first surgical training centre in the UK to be fully accredited by The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh by meeting their exacting standards.
We are delighted to have the opportunity to deliver a surgical skills course on the new MSU in Shetland later this year.
